Bio

Katy Nelson is a writer based in New York City. Her magazine features have appeared in numerous travel and lifestyle publications, and her grant writing has supported public policy think tanks, documentaries, universities, and human services agencies. Katy holds an MFA in creative writing from Queens University of Charlotte, a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University, and a bachelor’s degree in political science and English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was a Morehead-Cain Scholar. Katy also writes short comedic films and has performed standup comedy at Standup NY, Q.E.D., and the UCB Theater.
